Humidification and Dehumidification Techniques

the humidification is the process of intake, in a defined volume, a certain amount of water in vapor form. Dehumidification is the opposite process. There are several techniques of production and removal of such humidity.

Humidification by Evaporation :
Ambient dry air goes through a wet and porous surface (having a large contact area) saturated of water. At humidifier output we get humid air that is transferred into the surrounding environment through a ventilation system.
This causes: cold sensations on the shoulders of the operators, unhealthy environment, dispersion of limestone which is deposited on the products, problems of hygiene and quality, oxidation of the metal parts of machines and fixtures, low temperature, very low efficiency. In general to obtain appreciable results we need huge machines and the consumption of considerable quantities of water.

Humidification by spraying :
The water is pulverized into tiny particles (aerosols) and sent into the surrounding environment through. This aerosol suspension changes from a liquid to a gaseous state (water vapor) using ambient heat. The process of pulverization of water one can be obtained through increased water pressure (high-pressure humidifiers) , ultrasonic nebulizers (ultrasonic humidifiers) or high speed rotating disks (centrifugal humidifiers).
High-pressure humidifiers: Water pressure is increased up to 80bar inside special tubes and atomiz=stion nozzles are used to spread humid air into ambient.
Ultrasonic humidifiers : A metal diaphragm vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency creates micro water droplets (diameter of 1 to 3 microns). These droplets come in the form of a mist humidifier cool. These devices are particularly quiet.
Centrifugal humidifiers : Water is feed close to high speed rotating disks. Using a fan micro-particles are then diffused into ambient.

Humidification for vaporization of water :
the water is spread directly in the form of water vapor. This steam is produced by boiling a certain amount of water through an electrical system (resistors, electrodes, ...) for small / medium sized installations or through steam boilers for big inatallazioni. The humidification for vaporization of water allows to obtain:
• Humidity pure uncontaminated because it consists of steam distilled
• Any abbassamanto temperature humidified environment (ie 'is particularly useful because the humidification is generally required when the climate is harsh and must simultaneously heat dry environments )
• High efficiency and thus speed in achieving the desired moisture and accurate control performance: relative stability of humidity achieved

for Dehumidification Cooling
the principle is based snel passing of moist air over a cold surface (cooling coil) where the temperature is lower than the condensation temperature of moist air . The air in this way cools and loses a part of the content of steam which then condenses.
